Business West is a membership organisation representing businesses across the South West.
What do they do?
Through navigating ever complex and changing ways of working, Business West has supported thousands of businesses at every stage of their journey in the West of England to start, grow, export and innovate in today's world. Their desire is for a region rich in culture, devoid of inequality and poverty.
They champion entrepreneurial innovation and their non-political approach encourages joined-up thinking between councils across the West of England is helping to make the region a better place to live, work, learn and prosper.
Why do we love them?
They are committed to safeguarding the environment and addressing the Climate Crisis. They're already Carbon Neutral and aim to cut all emissions by 2030, to become net zero.
“Climate change is a defining issue of our time and it is our view that business can make a pivotal contribution towards the rapid transitions required to overcome the challenges that it poses.
Far from being the sole preserve of scientists and activists, climate change is now a mainstream business issue. There can be no prosperous future generated at the expense of the environment - businesses must act now.
We at Business West recognise the importance of taking immediate action to tackle climate change, both in terms of our own operations and as a beacon for the local business community.
As a leadership and membership organisation that supports 23,000 businesses across the South West, we are an organisation with the scale and influence to support and challenge the business community to prepare and adapt to meet the challenges of climate change.
Accordingly, we are taking strides toward tackling climate change and aiding the transition to a sustainable and resilient local economy working closely with key partners in Bristol and the West of England such as Action Net Zero.”
